Brief History of Diamonds
Unearthed millions of years ago, diamonds are beautiful, ancient creations that are naturally formed deep within the earth's crust. Diamonds get their name from the ancient Greek word "adamas" which means “unbreakable”. In ancient Egypt, diamond rings were first worn on the left hand, as they believed the “vena amoris” (meaning “vein of love”) ran directly from the heart to the fourth finger of the left hand.
The 4Cs of Diamonds
No two diamonds are the same, which is why a universal grading method, called the 4Cs (Colour, Clarity, Cut and Carat weight), was introduced to assess the quality of diamonds and their price anywhere in the world.
At Creative Jewellers, we specialise in diamonds and are able to help you through the selection process, describing the characteristics of your diamond so that you can make the choice that’s right for you. As one of Darwin’s largest diamond retailers, our diamonds have been pre-selected for exceptional quality, cut and colour. We can also source independently certified diamonds.
Buying a Quality Diamond
At Creative Jewellers, we have hand-selected diamonds for their striking colour, clarity, cut and carat weight (the 4Cs) as well as additional qualities such as their sparkle and natural transparency. When you buy a diamond from Creative Jewellers, you are choosing exceptional quality that has been individually selected for its beauty.
